View Full Version : Amazing designers?
Shawshank 06-08-2002, 09:02 AM I am very much interested in PixelBrick's design services. However cannot afford there $5,000.00+ costs. The max I can allot is $3,000.00 for a design. Are there any great freelancers you have seen around, that are just starting up and have designs comparable in quality to that of PixelBrick.com & 2advanced.com?
By the way I am well aware of the forum towards the bottom of WHT. I am not interested in anyone's "template" or throwing a contest. Also please do not send me any offers for a significantly smaller amount, promising me the world. I am not interested!!!
Neo3Net 06-08-2002, 09:20 AM Elance is a great place to start. There are many designers there that can get the job done at the quality you want.
Thanks
divinetruth 06-08-2002, 09:47 AM wow , thats a ton of money. I'm just wondering, what are you going to get designed ? like a webhosting site?

not really. I remember Brendan (HostRocket) mention that their new site for the data center cost 50k - pixelbrick again.
And Pixelbrick are in a league all on their own. We are working with them on an exciting project now and lets just say it's a tad more than 3 grand.
Anyhow, Elance is a good recommendation. We got our present site designed by designers found there.
Shawshank 06-08-2002, 11:08 AM Divine; Yes it would be for a web hosting company. You have to make a good first impression. And if you have the money to do it. why not?

Neo; thanks, however I am not looking to register and sign up for a bidding service to find a design company. But rather just direct link to some talented designer(s).

And the next step up from there:
http://2advanced.com
Shawshank 06-08-2002, 11:30 AM 2advanced has minimum of $20k per project.

For everyone else who posted in here, and did not private message me an offer; thank you. and keep the suggestions coming. That Billy guy seems pretty good. Still weighing my options though.
akashik 06-08-2002, 12:29 PM You two seem to be taking it a little personally considering you solicited him in a non advertising thread - take your slap like a man :)

Shawshank,
You might take a look at http://designerduo.com/ as well. They've done work for a few hosting companies. Never used them myself, but it's another string to your bow while you're looking around.

SuperDon 06-08-2002, 12:42 PM We have found Elance to be very good.
We recently had some scripting work done by a freelancer sourced from there, he was Bulgarian and did some great work at an excellent price.
Shawshank 06-08-2002, 12:44 PM Yea I'm starting to think Elance is my only option.
BTW SuperDon, excellent site design you have there.

Part of the problem is that you people don't bother to read the post. You send people PM's who clearly aren't interested in getting PM's of offers. He even says it in his post, yet you ignore it, send a PM, then get offended. Please re-read the post:

It is great that you've seen yourself and will gladly suggest your own services, however that is not what he is asking for. He didn't post a request in the Requests Forum, he knows about those, and frankly I'd be a bit pissed off if I asked for suggestions and got multiple members spamming my box with info about themselves, etc.
You may think his replies are rude, however it is equally rude to not read the post and offer something when it is clear that an offer is not being requested.
I've removed 5-6 posts from the thread but am hoping this post brings to light a problem that won't be repeated yet again. If you have any questions or comments on this, please feel free to email the moderators instead of commenting/asking questions in the thread itself.
Chicken, you are too cool
