So I spent about half an hour here at work trying to find a text-to-speech voice generator program(free). I did find a pretty cool one from AT&T here:

http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php#top

But they only have human voices. Im looking for cheezy, metallic sounding synthesized robotic voices. Something I can just type in text and have it speak.

There has to be something.

You guys remember that old speech program on like the apple/macintosh computers? I used to play with that at school, so if they did it 8 years ago, they must have something out there now, web based even.

So anyways, looking for a little help on this. Let me know what you find, and I will do the same. Peace.

http://www.cepstral.com/demos/

You can choose the voice you want, and then add effects, like robot.

Try it out.

Oh man, cestral is freaking awesome! Thank you so much theqase!

Only problem is its slightly expensive for me, was trying to keep this project as low-budget as possible, but its just too perfect I may have to spend the 30 bucks.

I will try festival next.

Okay.. be sure to read Cepstral's terms and conditions.. for some uses I remember there is an additional ~$200 licensing fee

Analog X "Say it" is freeware and you can really play with the actual "quality" of the voice. Takes a bit of getting used to but being free, it is easy to understand when you play with the settings.
