i'm looking for a host that will allow multiple domains. cyberpixels plans look great to me, but they won't reply to my email asking them.
i'd like a good chunk of space (300mb and up maybe) and bandwidth (10gb maybe), lots of subdomains, pops, forwarders, ftp accounts, some mysql databases, all the trimmings.
price is a huge factor. :) any ideas?

You may want to post this in the requests forum, you will find tons of offers.. :)

I started with gearhost.com a couple of weeks ago. So far everything is great. The customer support is very good. Since I've only been with them a short time I don't know how the service is in the long haul.
I think this is the host you are looking for... they have all the stuff you want.
I made a sub domain and then pointed a url to it and it worked like the sub domain was hosted on its own server! I did not know that could be done... even in the status bar it comes up as its own domain. I can put 5 domains on the plan I got... which will save money in the long run.
I hope this helps you...

Go better than that and get access to the WebHost Manager software where you setup your own domains that come with totally separate control panels, email, MySQL etc...etc. Hosts like spashhost.com, mchost.com any many others here will give you your own WHM software. You don't need to mess around with "sub-domains" and domain pointing. :)

Just out of curiosity, what does it matter if someone uses sub-domains and domain pointing versus separate control panels for each domain? I am also with GearHost and I have several domains on one account. They all work perfectly and none of them look like they are part of a single account to the visitors of the sites. Plus, e-mail works for all and is specific to each domain.
Also, according to a conversation Ryan had with my business partner, GearHost is planning on having individual control panels for multiple domains just like many other hosts currently do.

If you want to use sub-domains and point domains to them, then that's fine. If you'd like the ability to setup a domain in its own right, give it a dedicated IP address, have its own control panel, email MySQL, Private CGI-Bin etc, then that's ok too. It's just whatever works for you. :) There is no one solution that is perfect for everyone.

That makes sense. I just wasn't sure why... :) With a sub-domain and pointer, you don't have the separate IP, mySQL, etc. so if those are the options you require, a separate control panel is definitely nicer. Thanks for the additional info.
