View Full Version : Whois.Cart() Owners!
dhcart 08-09-2006, 06:40 AM We had bought AWBS. AWBS cannot integrate into a current web site(this is impossible). Also the customization what it's template is very hard. We are looking for another software which is easy to setup. Can you send Whois.Cart() template files to us if you use it? If we like it when we'll buy it. Thanks.
txuspi 08-13-2006, 08:03 AM You can use the AWBS 'bare' template and only need to insert your header and footer code.

I had tryed it. But it did not worked fine and it's same with other templates. Also your site looks unprofessional. Because you use an AWBS template and all AWBS templates are very bad. We purchased Whois.Cart() and it's better.

I didnt realize that this was the website review forum. For somebody to judge a design and be a critic about it should know enough about web design and know ways to implement into your own. AWBS is very easy to customize.

I think he meant "your" as in, that's what it looks like in general. He wasn't reviewing the poster's site.

Yes, it is for me. Also each of them looks like others.
redihot.com 08-14-2006, 06:34 AM If you look in the whoiscart forum some people offer to sell skins for the software, else we customised our old whoiscart billing system, www.redihot.com/billing, although we recently moved to whmcs due to it being so much more versitile and professional.
Also the whoiscart skins use smarty php meaning it is easy to customise and create designs for.
Hope that Helps

Thank you. We bought Whois.Cart(), too. But we have a question. Our registrar is Directi. Can our customers change the name servers of their each domains by Whois.Cart()? I asked it to Whois.Cart() support department three days ago but I could not get a response. Do you know it?
redihot.com 08-14-2006, 08:16 AM Yeh, pretty sure you can change names servers through the client area. Else ask in their forums.
Hope that Helps

What are the lacking features of Whois.Cart() according to other billing softwares (like WHMCS) for you? We wish to know it because we'll decide to use one of them. Thanks for your responses again.

Impossible is a bit of an exaggeration.
However, it does force you to either do a ton of work or fit your site into certain constraints. It's usually very easy to spot a site that uses AWBS just by visiting their home page. Whois.cart() (which I also own) is alright, but ModernBill is still very far ahead of the pack.
namelayer 08-14-2006, 12:30 PM There may be some reason I dont know but, Can dhcart please elaborate on why you are searching a good cart/billing/domain script if you are promoting one in your signature?

We have a hosting business, too and have hundred and hundred customers. Our own is not a billing software. We need an advanced but easy to customizable billing software (because we have not any free time at this time). We bought a lot of softwares and we'll decide to use one.

Judging a billing system only by how it looks is probably not a good idea.
I agree that the AWBS.com billing system has poor templates and does not look very professional "out of the box". I also agree that it is very difficult to customize (compared to other billing systems.)
However, it is probably the most feature complete and intuitive billing system in its price range. It is really too bad about the template system, because I believe this causes a lot of people to not even give it a chance.
If you look at it closely, it has pretty much every feature that Modernbill (v4.x) has. I think the reason AWBS isn't as popular is simply because it looks bad and has a poor demo on their sales website (no access to admin system setup area).
Anyway... judging a billing system only by its looks is shortsighted, imho. :) I think it's better to judge based on what it actually does. Like does it save you time and money in the long run?
