Hey,

I'm looking for a payment processor (that does recurring billing) as well and is on a per transaction basis so there are no monthy/yearly fees.

Anyone know of any?

you're looking at 2checkout. It has a $49 setup fee though, otherwise go for paypal.

I've been looking for one for soooo long. I'm still with PayPal, but I plan to go to 2Checkout soon.... the only downside being the setup fee, and the rate. Paypal is pretty decent, and according to some studies, about 50% of web hosting buyers prefer it, so if i were you, whatever you do, keep paypal as an option for your customers.

Yea but I want to use PayPal pro, which does credit cards / PayPal but that's only for US people.

I sent off an email as to when it'll be available in Australia with no reply.

I don't plan on setting up a bank account in America either, not at this stage, but I'm not sure if that overrides the situation, I may need to be an American resident.

Either way the fuss of me looking into it isn't worth it.

the standard paypal business account can accept credit cards and paypal, but the catch is that credit cards cannot be used for recurring payments... so you'd have to send out invoices every month, which would be easy if your cms includes that feature. PayPal has an invoice sending thing, but I havnet tried it yet.

you can say 50% of american/canadian buyers prefer paypal or something like that, but what about the rest of the world?

You know what, I'm sorry.... it was American and Canadian, you're right.

Huh? Australians can accept both credit cards and Paypal funds using the regular Paypal service. The memebership requirement ended over a year ago.

PayPal or 2CO is probably the easiest way to do it. What kind of average sale/ticket amount are you doing and what kind of monthly volume? That will play a big role into which direction will be best.

I'd also suggest to give 2CO a try - myself, I consider those $49 a rather wise investment, 2CO does everything I need - including recurring payments. Besides, they support fund settlements in local currencies - which is cheaper than settled funds in USD ($5 vs $20 for USD), and since I'm outside US it suits me fine.

I'm looking at a few thousand customers per month.

Anyway I signed up for 2CO and see how that will go.

They seemed the best to me without a doubt.
