View Full Version : Looking for php invoice/billing script
dhcart 08-08-2006, 04:31 PM Hi. I am looking for following features in a php billing/invoice script.
1. It should trigger automatically recurring invoice,
2. It should trigger automatically email send invoice on due date without any manual intervention,
3. It must be open source (but main code may encrypted),
4. Size of the script must be under one megabyte,
5. The price of the script must be under $200.
I don't need other functions like order, payment etc. Also it must be other than phpcoin, LPanel, AWBS, Clientexec, Modernbill, WHMAP, Whois.Cart(), Ubersmith, PHPInvoice, minibill, autohost, ipanel, solidstate.
Do you know a script like this?
I think you will need to code your own ...
MACscr 08-08-2006, 08:11 PM ROFL, why in the world does it need to be under 1mb? thats stupid. Are you running a web hosting company off a 4mb usb flash pen?
MACscr 08-08-2006, 08:30 PM I guess i can add something semi worthwhile. Have checked out phphostbot?
mrzippy 08-09-2006, 09:49 AM 3. It must be open source (but main code may encrypted),
Ummm.. I don't think this is possiblie. By definition, an open-source project would be open source. (ie: Not encrypted)

Since you have expressly said you're not interested in the different billing systems listed... then you're probably going to have the most "luck" by just hiring your own PHP developer and having a script custom created.
Your requirements are very basic, and there are lots of programmers who could make a recurring system that only sends out an email (requirement #1 and #2 in your list) for $25 or so.
If you want additional features (like ability to track payments, manage users, nice administration system, etc.) then you will need to pay a LOT more then $200. In that case, may I ask why you are not interested in any of the billing systems you listed?

Yes. But we need to modify some files(for example we want to put a link for payment).
In that case, may I ask why you are not interested in any of the billing systems you listed?
Because the customization of this softwares is very hard and a lot of files. We have no many time at this time and need a billing software urgently.
I don't understand why there are not more billing softwares on the world.
MACscr 08-09-2006, 10:51 AM Why 1mb though? Also, SolidState does exactly what your looking for, but i dont think its under 1mb though. Its pretty slim though, i could be wrong.
mrzippy 08-09-2006, 11:08 AM This doesn't make sense to me. You need a billing system "urgently", but yet you want to customize it...
What is wrong with just getting something like www.awbs.com and running one of the "out of the box" templates? Or just use the "bare" template if you have your own design? You can integrate it with your own site within about 1/2 hour or so if you are familiar with PHP/HTML. The script is under $200, has a ton of features, is well supported, and you can pretty much start billing right away once you add your customers and set up the payment module you desire.

We need a few little modifying. This is not hard thing.

We had already bought AWBS. But it's very complex software. It cannot integrate into a current web site(this is impossible). We don't change our design. Also the customization of it's templates is very hard. Also I couldn't see a different things on "bare" template. It looks like to others.
If anyone have Whois.Cart() please send me it's template files. If I like it when I'll buy it. Thanks

There are a lot of lacking features on this software. Also we found some errors on it.
alex1950 08-09-2006, 12:01 PM I would recommend to check out A Plus Bill (http://aplusbill.com) it has all your requests and alot of other funtions and options.
cheers
brianoz 08-14-2006, 10:38 AM Hmmm ... I don't know how to put this, but from your comments about a number of these systems I think you really don't understand billing systems, or the costs of developing software.
Even the simplest, smallest piece of code to do billing will probably end up costing you something like $1000 (*minimum*) over two years to develop AND maintain. Of course, you could probably get something going initially for $300 - $500, but long term your maintenance costs will kill you.
If AWBS is so hard to customize how come other people have done it so successfully?
You're asking for advice here, but then just ignoring the responses that don't say what you want to hear. All I can say is - all the best to you! Good luck for the future (meant sincerely) -- but I'm afraid you're going to need it!
WebGuyz 08-15-2006, 01:42 PM AWBS does take some clue but its not brain surgery.
What your looking for does not exist considering your exclusion list and parameters.
CN@WH101 08-15-2006, 04:15 PM Your going to have a very, very hard time finding something under 1 mb. If it's that much of a problem you may want a hosted version of something??? However, I think that you have listed and turned down every script that may provide a hosted version.
You also state that you must do some custom work on the script but then say that integrating awbs is to hard?
Also, what is wrong with ModernBill, Lpanel, or Client Exec? You don't even have to integrate those into your website. If you get a hosted version of one of the above scripts that won't even take up 1 MB either.
quicklyweb 08-16-2006, 02:38 AM Well try CWISPY on http://www.cwispy.com
It is open source
ihostdev 08-16-2006, 05:16 PM I guess i can add something semi worthwhile. Have checked out phphostbot?
phphostbot is autohost.
Arron the owner just changes the name of his software about every 8-12 months for this product for some odd reason.
ezXEN 08-17-2006, 01:29 AM nevermind didnt see the under 1mb limit :)
osckar 08-19-2006, 01:34 AM AccountLab Plus from netenberg.com, a good one from what I have tried.
