It is not magic. There are some domains that per se automatically generate more traffic than others. Do you have some advice for getting domains with high traffic?

It's called type-in traffic. Many web searchers just type in a domain name that they think should exist. IE: hot biker babes .com. The "magic" is to get domain names with keywords that users are likely to type in. The Overture keyword tool is a good place to see the popularity/frequency of keywords: http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
In this example there were 4258 searches in June at Overture for hot biker babes.
Certain topics are better than others. :)

generics gets lots of typein traffic usually .com more over others

also re-cycled traffic such as old expired domains which was functional sites or typos too
