Here is what I received from paypal!:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are writing to advise you that due to a technical error, withdrawals you made from your PayPal account to your bank account on the 23 and 24 July were inadvertently credited to your bank account twice. This will have resulted in you receiving an amount in your bank account that is double the amount you instructed PayPal to withdraw from your PayPal account.

To rectify this error, on the 5 August, we deducted the duplicate credit from the balance of your PayPal account.

If you are concerned that this debit may have left your PayPal balance with less funds available than you require, we advise that you add the duplicate credit that we made to your bank account to your PayPal account. You can do this by going to the “Add Funds” tab from the Account Overview page.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, that's around $400, not some pennies, wtf? I went to my online bank statements and there are no duplicate payments, everything is right. Can it be, that the duplicate transaction isn't recorded there? Shall I first check the card on ATM and call paypal after?

Anyone had such problems with them?

Never had trouble with this. Duplicates seem rather odd considering these transfers should be automated. Phone PayPal and sort this out.

The title of your post is somewhat misleading, however call your bank to find out what happened exactly since online bank statements are usually a few days behind.

You can also call PayPal (it's not as painful as some people claim!) and they should be able to further assist you.

changed the title ;)

>>since online bank statements are usually a few days behind

True, usually 5 days, but on 23rd July it shows only one transaction of that kind and in the following days none.

Are you sure it isn't some strange phishing e-mail? There isn't a 'login' or 'contact paypal' link lower down?

Nope, it's legit.....since my account has now a negative balance!

I suggest you make a copy of your bank statement and send it to PayPal by fax or attached to an email. You can blank out amounts for other transactions and the balance.

If you can show that only one transfer has been made then you should have no trouble getting the mistake recified, it might take a few weeks. Big companies are sloooow.

Thanks guys, but it's all fine as long as the money there. I just went to check the card at ATM and it's more money there than it should be (thank god), strange though it doesn't show up in online bank statements.
