Thanks Chicken 02-02-2001, 03:41 AM Well I know redirection.net offers this, errrr... possibly registerfly.com (possibly), or it might have been another one that I am thinking of but can't quite remember at this moment. The $8.88 one... *sigh* ohhh well. Hopes this gets you going in the right direction at least. sodapopinski 02-02-2001, 04:19 AM try centralinfo.net baileysemt123 02-02-2001, 05:46 AM I've been really happy with dotster.com Go to their site, I believe it's in the FAQs section where you can find all their features. Also prices start at under $10/year for a domain (10-year commitment) and last night I registered two domains for just one year for $14.95 each. No 2-year initial contract! Woo-hoo! Also been very pleased with their service. They have seemed pretty solid in my experience. Of course, your mileage may vary... Bailey jic 02-02-2001, 08:02 AM The best one I have ever used is gkg.net. BUT they don't do redirection. I heard redirection.net is good. James R. Clark II Nethosters Inc. http://www.nethosters.com Duster 02-02-2001, 09:26 AM If you do a search here on 000domains.com, you'll find a large number of us that have been very pleased with them. All of the Open SRS RSPs use their Domain Manager, which allows for making changes fast and easy. From personal experience, I know they answer questions rapidly also. On the two occasions (regarding transfers) I communicated with them, I received an answer in a half hour or less (about 20 minutes the first time). At $13.50, they are cheap enough for me. I've used slightly cheaper registrars (like alldns.com) and regretted it. They are terrible. I know 000domains.com does free parking, though I don't believe they do redirection. However, there are free services that do redirection if you need it. I know someone who uses mydomain.com and there are others. Shawn (GEcom) 02-02-2001, 09:22 PM http://www.easyhosting.com Excellent support and done through Look Communications. Pretty cheap too, $20.00 CDN a year. They do not offer redirection, but you can signup for a free account at Mydomain.com and change the nameservers on your domain through OpenSRS to point to the mydomain.com nameservers. Really cool stuff, free domain pointing at http://www.mydomain.com Hope this helps, Shawn http://www.wrestlecar.com alpha 02-02-2001, 09:53 PM i think what chicken was trying to remember was powerpipe.com they have TLD domains for $8.88 what i want to know is... has anyone tried them? how is their service? domain manager? well, i think im going to register a domain with registerfly.com; their prices are great and I've heard nothing bad about them while searching through WHT and sitepoint hows registerfly.com's service? domain manager? thanks :) john Chicken 02-03-2001, 12:11 AM That was it alpha. One of those two uses enom which offers a pretty decent amount of control (even DNS) for your domains. I've heard that the DNS can be problematic, but I think overall it is fine. I get those two confused for some reason. Matrix 02-03-2001, 01:58 PM Thanks for the replies melia 02-03-2001, 06:56 PM Registerfly.com DOES do redirection. I don't know if it's in their info or faq pages anywhere, but it's easily done through the control panel. Registration is $9.99 per year, no contract past the year you pay. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. Jonah 02-03-2001, 07:22 PM You might wanna check out http://www.speednames.com |
