Hi,

could you give me any hints regarding hosting services which offer lots of space (at least 20 GB) - bandwith doesn't have to be high (budget $30 -$40/month)?
Thanks.

1 hint - you might be better off with a VPS, and increasing your budget a little. Take a look at http://www.powervps.com/

VPS might be the way to go, have any control panel requirements?

Thanks, yes, Cpanel (Unix/Linux) and if they offer any billing soft included that would be perfect..

The high space requirement is likely to be a problem. Chances are that a quality VPS with over 20GB of space, will require significantly more than his stated budget.

sign up with jaguarpc vps, and get a whmcs license. will fulfil all your requirements with cpanel/whm/billing software for $40-$45ish.

I'm on JaguarPC VPS site but cannot see any details about packages you offer. Where could I find more details about your VPS?

PowerVPS are good at times, my friend uses them although sometimes the vps will go really slow. But most of the time it runs at a good speed.

Where are the JaguarPC's servers located?

Sorry for a stupid question but is the term "VPS" equal to "virtual hosting"?

A VPS is a dedicated server split into several smaller dedicated server "like" accounts that operate separately. A VPS would in turn require more work to manage since it is like a dedicated server.

so your answer? Could I use the expression "Virtual hosting" for VPS? Isn't it the same?

If your cpu usage isn't demanding and you don't need root access, then you could get a large amount of space without going for VPS. This would also be much cheaper.

Virtual hosting is shared hosting, ie bunch of accounts on same server, VPS = virtual private server, which is like was said above, a bunch of smaller dedicated servers split up into their own resources, on one server. Hope this helps!!
