Price wise, yes it is certainly a good deal. I have never dealt with this provider so its hard to say what type of service you'll get for the $2.

Is this price offered as part of a hosting package? If yes, I'd suggest registering at a domain registrar and then signing up with your preferred hosting account.

New domains are unlikely to be listed on google due the infamous "sandbox effect" where google penalise newly registered domains. You need to add content and hopefully in another 9-18 months google will index your domain.

The price for the domain name can be below $6.25 (The real fee for registration including ICANN fee) which means the Registrar is selling it at loss.

If it is a part of a hosting package, I would agree with stu2 and register the domain name elsewhere, because if you cancel hosting package, you might have trouble with transfering it away to another Registrar.

If you click their promotional banner and go through the order process, in the end it'll be $6.95 - So it's a ripoff!

infact anything below 6.5 considering the fees to run a registrar would be a loss IMO
