Shaw Networks 08-03-2006, 03:36 AM You'll have way more luck finding a quality web host by dropping the end user support from the host and signing up for third party end user support services. premium20 08-03-2006, 05:53 AM There aren't many reviews for them. Which makes me feel that they must be doing something right. Anthony is very active on here. Or else, you can try their support by buying a package. They do have a 14 days money back guarantee on all packages. ScottJ 08-03-2006, 09:09 AM Normally end user support would be better than third party end user support services, because your host has full access to the server and the third party company would not. ldcdc 08-03-2006, 09:48 AM You'll have way more luck finding a quality web host by dropping the end user support from the host and signing up for third party end user support services. His options would be a lot more varied, though the end result will not necessarily be optimum. Normally end user support would be better than third party end user support services, because your host has full access to the server and the third party company would not.I tend to agree. As long as the host is good, I would prefer "end user support" to using a third party company. The cost can end up being smaller as well, depending on the exact providers. zincoxide 08-03-2006, 09:50 AM I was originally thinking of going with a VPS and getting a third party company to provide end user support. But I was recommended to go with a reseller package. What are the thoughts here? IH-Rameen 08-03-2006, 10:54 AM You'll have way more luck finding a quality web host by dropping the end user support from the host and signing up for third party end user support services. I really don't see any logic in this. How is a company offering end-user support going to be any less of quality than a company not? As correctly pointed out before, he would be much better off choosing a host that provides end-user support as well instead of buying 3rd party. Say he did buy 3rd party...what are they going to do? Just forward most of the tech problems to the original host's tech support dept. to handle. layer0 08-03-2006, 11:37 AM Indeed, if you can, get support directly from the host. If you do so, then this support team will be the one which actually has access to the servers to correct any issues that may arise. Whereas if you outsourced the support to a third party, separate from your web host, then they of course will not have access to anything but your reseller account. This limits them in terms of the issues they can correct, and they are going to end up having to go through your host for mostly everything. So why add a middle man? zincoxide 08-03-2006, 11:42 AM Okay... So it seems as though a 3rd party company is really only worth it for VPS or dedicated is that right? Also, can anyone comment on their thoughts of whether I should get a VPS or a reseller account. As mentioned before, in the VPS forum I was asking around and they suggested to start with a reseller and then go up from there. What's the thought in here? And again... Has anyone used webkore? gate2vn 08-05-2006, 08:19 AM a vps or a reseller account, it depends on what you are doing. I go with vps only when I need root access. Otherwise, with a good provider, I would go with reseller account. it will be better in using system resources. In vps, you will be limited by cpu and memory. if you need large memory, it's expensive poliedro 08-05-2006, 05:54 PM VPS are not good for newbies. They are complicated. Jiffy 08-05-2006, 06:23 PM And again... Has anyone used webkore? I've been using them for a few months and everythings fine so far. Good communication, features, etc. I'm happy!:) dragon87 08-07-2006, 07:58 AM u r looking for resellerzoom :) zincoxide 08-08-2006, 10:21 AM I've been looking at RZ and Webkore. Webkore, seems to have better packages though. kenchix1 08-30-2006, 08:44 AM resellerzoom has good service for their advance-reseller account with end-user support but I'm also considering webkore. I've been with resellerzoom for almost 2 years now. OTOH, It took several hours for webkore to answer a simple query on pre-sale, now Im thinking how much more would it take for a technical question/concern if I got a package on them. zincoxide 08-30-2006, 10:28 AM That's a very good point. I think I'm going to stick with RZ. Everyone seems to have good things to say about them. Thanks. skatewhale 09-04-2006, 05:43 PM Getting End-User support will allow you to get the benefit of server management from the same company. For anyone who is new to webhosting, I'd suggest getting a reseller account with end-user support option. Getting support from a seperate company can be pretty expensive. Jeff Smith 10-08-2006, 03:47 AM I have been with webkore.net for like 3 months, and so far their support has been phenominal. They are nice people who care about their business, and it shows. I have never waited longer than 20 minutes for any kind of response, usually in under 15 minutes. If you choose them you will not regret it. Swizi 10-08-2006, 04:58 AM You can always ask your host (if you're a reseller) if they can do end-user support for a price. Or, simply singup with a management company (if you're a vps+) and ditto the above. If not, 3rd party is the way to go. Or you can hire people to do support. If you're a reseller, have you tired their end-user support? If so, what are their average response times for that? Jeff Smith 10-08-2006, 05:18 AM Swizi, Sorrry mate, I am not a reseller just have one of their reseller accounts. Standard Pro. |
