Not sure if this is the right forum but it seemed to be the most relevant.

I may be selling one of my large sites that offers numerous text ads and banners on the site in exchange for people signing up for a paypal subscription payment. My question is how do I give those subscriptions to the person who wants to buy my site? It will be the factor that determines if my site will sell so I am kinda nervous that it can't be done...

I noticed that the email that the subscription pays to is based on the email I assign in paypal as the primary email....

I guess that means that I would have to hand over my paypal account and delete anything private that has to do with my credit cards, emails, etc...

unless you guys know of another way :)

Thanks!

That really sounds like the most practical way to go. Anonymize your PayPal account and hand it over. Perhaps you should ask PayPal if they have a solution. But I wouldn't mention what you are considering. I think they wouldn't be too pleased about people just passing PayPal accounts around ;)

I remember that I read a similar post elsewere. Paypal didn't have a solution but anonymizing the account like stu2 said should do.

Anyway, consider asking paypal first. Maybe you will be luck!

Yep, we've bought and sold websites in the past where PayPal subscriptions were involved. It's a pain, but you have to give the account over to the other user. Your name or company name has to stay on the account as well. PayPal does not allow changes to the account owner.

If you changed the primary email on your account (this is possible) to a secondary email and then removed the original primary email some one else can add that to their account either as a primary or secondary email. I am unaware of whether the subscriptions would carry over to the new account or to the original one. Has any one tried this?

Are you sure about that? I thought that once an email is associated with an account it cannot be used on any other accounts, even if it is removed from the original one.

You can move an email address to another account (by removing it from the original account first), but it will not carry the subscriptions with it. The subscriptions are connected to the actual PayPal account.

I discovered that paypal actually lets business accounts transfer rights over to another individual...you have to fill out a form and fax it :)

Thanks guys
