Honest Review for a Honest Host
Well I am one of those horror story clients that had seen the worst that shared and reseller hosting had to offer. I apologize if this is long but here is my story, thoughts, and honest review.
I started with Invision Power Boards because I was running a guild website. I quickly out grew that in the matter of months and had to find larger shared hosting. My avid guildies managed to in 7 months wear out our welcome and get our account deleted from our shared host due to excessive resource usage and overloading the server stream. A ran through the gauntlet of horrible host from there till I landed with a good one. A guy I met on WHT that was only intending to help me sift through the wasteland of hosting and give his inside the business reviews on other companies performances. I still tried several others and when it was all said and done I negotiated a deal with him and joined. I was doing great and living the dream with a working and helpful web host for about 6 months...then the bad happened. The company announced that they were folding and would no longer host. A week later the server I was on crashed and I lost all my info my site had on it and no solid backup to go from. Since the company had folded they decided not to fix the server and thus my reign with them was over.
Within this time frame I had met JewlzK and Roland and discussed hosting websites and designing forum boards, and business. He had read and heard my horror stories and was shocked. So after further discussion the logical idea was to come to him. He didn’t promise me the world or anything fancy just hosting with a company that cared. He told me that "maybe we aren’t the greatest but you will most definitely receive the individual customer service that we believe all clients deserve". That at this point had become very important. All the rest matters too, server load time, uptime, capability, and resources but bottom line is you want someone who cares not someone responding with canned answers.
So almost a year ago I jumped on board. I would be lying if I said it was all perfect and all has gone well. There have been speed bumps and some small downtime here and there. But nothing that has happened has weakened my resolve or made me want to jump ship. I expect the bare minimum and he always impresses me with far more then I could ever ask for. Every time there was an issue he has been on messenger at all hours of the nite answering questions and figuring out how to get things online. He has never faulted with an apology or sincere emotion. More importantly he has gone above and beyond what any host will do, he helps with sites and databases and anything he or one of his friends or affiliates may have time to offer assistance with. You just don’t get that anywhere else. He doesn’t just care about the servers and his business but he cares about whether your site is functional and operational and making you happy, in a genuine way.
With that kind of leadership and those kind of employees, you cant help but feel confident when a incident occurs or for the future of the company. I will be around for my one year anniversary in September, and I hope to be around for many more as JewlzK.com grows into a eventual leader in hosting. Just an honest review for an honest host, by a weathered and traveled client.
