View Full Version : Namecheap.com support ignoring me
jez9999 08-02-2006, 05:35 AM This message is to 'enetwork':
I know that your current policy is not to allow .tv domain transfers. Are you planning on offering them soon? If not, why not? I think you should, and I've looked up several other registrars who offer them with no hassle (www.tv, GoDaddy, etc). I'd very much like to transfer my .tv domain to Namecheap.
I'm posting this to WHT in the desperate hope you'll reply to it. I e-mailed you and filled out the web form to ask this question, but as usual got no reply. Could you PLEASE fix your customer support system? It's ridiculous that it's so hard to even get a reply from you regarding a query. I can't even PM you on WHT because enetwork is no longer receiving PMs!!! I find it truly bizarre that a service that's as good as namecheap in every other area is so utterly pathetic when it comes to customer support.
Best regards,
Jeremy Morton (Jez)
jez9999 08-03-2006, 04:52 AM He's not accepting PMs!!
That's true. Strange. He's normally available and helpful.

But he can change his mind if he feels like it. I don't blame Richard if he decides to
take that off if he's getting enough unnecessary flak.
If the Namecheap people believe processing .tv transfers will do more harm than
good for now, then there's no point offering such. Neither will they want to give a
specific timeframe when they'll do this, and have someone hold it against them if
they "don't keep their promise" later on.
Jez, I take it you logged inside your Namecheap account and sent a ticket asking
exactly about this?
i asked a similar question about .me.uk and got a reply within an hour or so saying that it might be a possibility for the future. I dunno why they wouldn't reply to such a similar question - how long did you wait for a reply? namecheap's always been very good for me.
I think the problem is that the email was not delivered. I have been with them for more than 3 years and their response was always quick
We see quite a few complaints on WHT about NameCheap's service response time. They probably are not all out of order. But I would recommend only using NameCheap's support ticket system rather then relying on email.

Of course. It's a free world. we can also change registrars if we feel we are not getting the support we need. I wouldn't say "blame" is the right word. I think he joined this forum to be of help to his customers. Cutting off his PM mailbox isn't furthering that cause. If customers are not getting support thru the normal support channels, then it's reasonable to PM him to intervene for such issues. Perhaps there are too many issues with too many customers :(
franksredhot 08-04-2006, 07:12 PM jez999 Get used to it, namecheap's support is probably grossly over-stretched handling so many complaints. Get a reseller account at enom, have them move the name to your account and problem is solved.
alexmue 08-05-2006, 01:36 AM yeah their customer support is bad.
i send in some questions a few weeks ago and never recieved answears.
You can't push domains between NameCheap and eNom. You have to do a transfer, which costs another year.

a small price to pay to go from no/crappy support/interface(namecheap) to the best(enom)
namecheap.. a crap interface? o_o you do mean their control panel right? i've never heard anyone call it that.. mind you i've never seen eNoms either :(
domainintelligent 08-06-2006, 09:23 PM Sorry All, but I've tried all registrars and Namecheap works for me, period. Maybe enetwork turned of his pm's cause he got tired of this being a place to air dirty laundry instead of a domain discussion. I've researched the threads on complaints of most registrars in these forums and this seems to be the case. I noticed it's mainly the one post wonders (like me) that come and gripe.
Bashar 08-06-2006, 11:05 PM as SWR always said:
"There is no best registrar, there is best registrar for YOU"
changed webhost to registrar ;)
laydee 08-07-2006, 02:55 AM namecheap.. a crap interface? o_o you do mean their control panel right? i've never heard anyone call it that.. mind you i've never seen eNoms either
Exactly! :o I LOVE Namecheap's interface!
lanas 08-09-2006, 05:29 AM I would say Namecheap is great if you don't need to contact their support, which is very slow and getting you short inconcret answers.
enetwork 08-09-2006, 06:12 AM He's not accepting PMs!!
Jez, I apologize for the delay in responding to you here. Please let me know if you haven't received a response to this inquiry. I'm quite sure this was an issue with emails between us rather than someone purposely ignoring you. We handle all emails everyday no matter what the question might be.
I have no idea why my PM's here are not working. I did not request this nor modify my account. I will see if I can get that fixed.
Anyone else with issues. Please let me know. I am always here to personally help any of you.
alexmue 08-12-2006, 01:02 AM i also still got no answear of your so called "support".
BTW: when trying to PM you, it says "enetwork has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages."
if you have not choosen to not recieve PMs, then most likly the second part of that sentence applys.

By 'ticket', do you mean the very same so-called 'e-mail' form that anyone can fill out whether they're logged in or not?
And yes I have sent the query via that too.
