View Full Version : Hosting Company
NashTax 08-01-2006, 11:06 PM Hello!
I'm thinking of starting a small hosting company though I do not know were to start. Can you please help me out?
It's my dream to own my own company, to have offices, to be busy. What would I have to do first in order to start my own company ( a web hosting company? ).

Do you have a lot of start up funds? Or is this a summer project until school starts? Also, there is probably a better forum cat. here for this.

I was going to buy a dedicated server and then make the company from there, hopefully it will expand ect.
I will check that forum now.
Thanks.

What are your skills and background?
music 08-01-2006, 11:28 PM Congratulations, WHT is a great place to network. But Networking is only a small part of building a successful business.
The only thing I can say, (given your limited impute ) is” Better Lucky than Good”.

None at all really, this is why it will be a-little project. I do give away free webspace (link in signature), I'm pretty good at that but it isn't on a dedicated server, it's on a rea-seller, there-fore I'll have to learn some commands frm the dedicated server type of things.
I'm good at Tech Support too, I answer all the emails under an hour.

Sir u might be shocked i started with 0 funds in my pocket, more funds just get you quick on your feet, but smart thinking and overworking can overcome the funds criteria also.
By cat you meant meow meow or category? Just click report button if there exists better category :).
And NashTax free hosting is easy to give away but to get reliable customers is totally a different scenario.
You should partner up with some guy if you think it would be too much of a thing to do alone.

If you don't have any experience administrating servers on your own, then you should avoid purchasing a dedicated server now. Either hire someone to manage it, or start off with a less risky reseller account. Good luck with your hosting venture!
