Has anyone tried both for an extended period? Any SPECIFIC reason i should choose one over the other? Im not looking for alternative solutions to these two. Im looking for opinions on these two billing solutions.

I prefer smarty, so that gives a point to WHMCS, but AWBS has a shopping cart style order form and also has loginshare with kayako. WHMCS has maxmind support and AWBS only has Fraudgrabber (not interested). They are both priced around the same (WHMCS is maybe $20 cheaper). WHMCS has email piping for its support desk (AWBS does not), but again, i want to use kayako.

Any constructive opinions are appreciated.

Awbs has free enom reseller account, it has lots of plugin so in case in future u decide to go and use DA instead of cpanel ur not at a loss.

Email piping might get introduced into AWBS so better ask their support personal about it.

But AWBS integration into site can be bit time consuming.

Thanks for the reply. I already have a enom acount, so thats not an issue. I dont think i would ever switch to DA either. My users would kill me. Plus cpanel has been very good for me.

Well are you using AWBS already? and if you plan to use Cpanel all your life its better to get whmc i guess.

They both do Cpanel. I only have a demo of both. WHMCS has a migration script from MB (which i do have), but AWBS does not. WHMCS has no type of multi company support though. AWBS is only so so in that category.

Well what about support, i am not liking awbs support for my problem with autmation process so how is the support with whmcs , i might just buy CE instead of AWBS just cause of support.

WHMCS has very good support, very personable as well. AWBS seems halfway decent so far.

WHMCS's affliate system is pretty lacking and thus far as no support for another integrated solutions. AWBS has idevaffiliate, but that one kind of sucks.

Just saw that AWBS has quickbooks export. That will be nice.

Just go with CE as i might too, as i am stuck with awbs support.

Ce has promised lots of changes in next upgrades.

I did not like the features of WHMCS. AWBS is better. We purchased AWBS few days ago. But customization into a website is very hard(because there are a lot of files) and these softwares are very complex. If you have much free time when you may buy AWBS. Good luck.

Oh its a simple trick to integrate awbs into ur site , dhcart, i actually have intergrate awbs into my site but still there are some issues that i am awaiting to get solved.

all you have to do is copy the code of each file into your preexisting template files remove the header, bottom, right and left include files, and just copy paste and save your template as that file from where you copied the code from, its just copy paste most of the time. Not too hard if you have dreamweaver on you.

We decided on WHMCS because of opiniions from staff members and test users. WHMCS is missing a few features that we need/would like, but Matt is pretty open to ideas that will improve his script, so i am sure we can get the features eventually.

Well i am not sure if whmc will ever support plesk or other panels as long time back i am sure i read somewhere that whmc wont work on other panels other than cpanel.

It might end up becoming another whm autopilot script.

From the WHMCS 2.5 press release ;)

New modular server system implemented to allow expansion to support DirectAdmin, Plesk and other control panels in the future

I think I read somewhere that not long after 2.5 has gond gold, they will release a module for Plesk first...

Until clients prefer plesk or another control panel over cpanel, i wont be switching. Ive never heard of a single client prefering plesk over cpanel. Maybe admins, but not clients.

Well, as an admin, I've tried both and I also prefer cpanel/whm ;)

I'm currently on DRAMS\AWBS and decided to switch to WHMCS after seeing their demo and features for v2.5. The smarty templates is a real plus for design and creativity and integration to existing site. WHMCS Admin console definitely more well organised and logical.

I'm just waiting for Matt to release an import script for this. :gthumb:

Well looking into the current situation, which one of the two would you go now with, Considering that both now have released much better function versions.

Well lets say just for Domain Registration purpose.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
