Hi All,
I have searched the forum and couldn't find this topic.
Is there any Guide or Tutorial to get server started.
That should be made sticky.
Server installation and configuration from Scratch

In my case
I just purchased server, I am given Plesk and IP address.
Now I have to started installing things
How should I start ?
I have a domain onedomain.com
Now what ...
How should I make Nameserver and to which nameservers the domain be forwarded.

should I Add Ns1 and ns2 in DNS settings of Plesk... then forward domain to this ?

I don't want to experiment myself fear that undoable things

Then how can I procede to install PHP, fantastico, mysql etc

But First things is critical.... how and where to start ...

Any help, hint will be greatly appreciated

I would recommend you finding a Fully managed providor as things may not turn out right if you do not know what you are doing.

You definitely need a fully managed provider, as Anthony said. There is A LOT more to server work than simply installing the basics and moving on through trial and error. You also need it to be secured professionally, optimised, etc. Time to move elsewhere or outsource your support ASAP -- before the server is hacked and then used for Spam.

Well, You need to do some preliminary steps inorder to make safe your server from hacks and other threats. Let us know the specification of the server. Is it windows or linux?

hate to break it to you, but if you have a PLESK box, you won't be installing fantastico anytime soon as that if for Cpanel.

You should look at a managed provider if you are worried about making mistakes.

You should take a look at the fully managed offerings from companies such as TS, PSM, EZSM, etc at least for the first few months anyway... they might help you learn what to do.
