Hi, how do PHPNuke and PostNuke hold up with sites that receive millions of visits a month? What type of server load can I expect? Is PHPNuke or PostNuke more efficient than one or the other? Any comments on how they hold up with big sites would be appreciated.

I wouldn't use PHPNuke if I were you. There were too many open holes with it. I think PostNuke is a lot better and more stable.

or http://geeklog.sourceforge.net/
Despite the name, it has a pretty good community around it. The original design was done by someone from SecurityGeeks.net if I remember correctly.
PHP-Nuke has closed all the holes in new versions
If I had to choose PHP-Nuke or PostNuke I'd choose PHP-Nuke but personaly I prefer Sips (http://sips.sourceforge.net)

I vote in for PostNuke !
PHP-Nuke is nice too, since all bugs are removed..

I think XOOPS (http://www.xoops.org/) is much better than any Nukes.
