Anyone tried the Yahoo's Cobalt RaQ servers

that makes me wonder, what is so good about raq anyway?

I mean, they are really expensive, they have low specs...

Are they 64-bit processors or sth?

... what a bunch of crap! And dead expensive too. Yahoo really gives a new meaning to the word "village idiot" LOL

The Cobalt RaQ 4i, for which I am responsible for 3 update RPMs on cobalt.com btw from my time and problems with this box in 1.5 years, is a AMD K6-II 450MHz CPU system. It is very limited, hard to fix and cannot handle near that specs Yahoo gives on their page which is just a lame copy off the Cobalt page actually.
No the RaQ is actually the worst nightmare. I had it for 1.5 years... 1.5 years too much :(

The Cobalt Raq 4's use very low spec AMD K62 processors - these are much slower than a comparable Intel processor at the same mhz, if you could even get an Intel Pentium CPU at that slow a mhz anymore.

www.cheatcc.com uses yahoo servers and they're sooooooo slow on my 56k connection.:D

what do you expect

Their support : "Yahoo! Customer Care" <servers-support@yahoo-inc.com>, is not fast respond (several hours) and give "general answer always"!

So? On a 56k, it's always going to be somewhat slow, but it takes much longer than any other website.:D

Avoid those servers from yahoo. Ive actally been inside the data center for yahoo here and actally touched the cheatcc.com servers and they didnt really impress me as far as price compared to what you get. Its a basic basic raq box and the reason their support answers are so generic is because they use an automated tool to respond to customers. The one thing I did like is they have crazy bandwidth going into their building as a huge ATT&T center is below them a few floors down.

Yahoo servers are way overpriced...especially for a RAQ3. Good luck

Funniest thing is that they can ask that price, since they have a good, quality name...

Good thing about Yahoo is that they can't use bad words spread about them, so they will most likely not do "bad" things...

Yahoo does pretty much everything these days.
