anyone familiar with Dixiesys (http://www.dixiesys.com/index.php?display=reseller) ? I just read in the specials that they are offering double specs for listed price for the month of June. An acqaintence has used them for about a month them and gives a big thumbs up on their support.. just curious as to other customer's comments on service & speed.

I have a Resellers Account with them and have had no problems. I have never really used the official support system. I have called Gary on the phone with questions prior to switching over to a resellers account and all the other questions I have had have been answered on the forums. Have your acqaintence let you take a test run. I have some extra room if you need a test drive.

If you read elsewhere in these forums about the CheapHostOnline/FreeHostSpace debacle, then you'll know that not too long ago hundreds of former FreeHostSpace customers who were used to free hosting; and/or former FreeHostSpace-turned-CheapHostOnline customers who were used to really, really cheap hosting, needed a good, inexpensive host so they could get away from CheapHostOnline. In part because I charge too much for even my smallest hosting plan, and also because I wasn't sure I really wanted a raft of those kinds of customers, I sent as many as cared to ask to Dixiesys.
In response to emails between me and them which I copied to Gary at Dixiesys, his answers to questions where immediate and helpful. And one of those customers who scrambled away from the FreeHostSpace/CheapHostOnline situation as fast as he could and who then signed-up with Dixiesys later sent me the following grateful message:

I cannot thank you enough for the recommendation of
Dixiesys.
The DIFFERENCE between them [and FreeHostSpace]
really is Chalk and Cheese.
Gary is SO accessible, I've even been ICQing the guy
for tiny questions - brilliant !!
Also their help forum says lots about them and is a
great advertisement for the company. Did you know
that Freehostspace put up a forum for around 3 days??
They had to remove it quickly because it immediately
became chock full of people complaining about their
appalling service!
Fingers crossed, everything so far is working smoothly
with dixie - and I see no reason why it shouldn't
continue to do so.
