In my search for any possible way to charge customers on a monthly basis, but be able to change how much they're charged depending on their service usage, I was reading the LinkPoint gateway documentation.
I noticed that they have a full API for recurring billing (which Authorizenet, what I currenly use, does not have). There is a "MODIFY" command that can be sent to modify existing recurring payments. However, on the same page the documentation showed that the credit card info was required, and had no field for any type of reference to an existing recurring payment.
Does anyone actually use this feature? Can I change the amount of a recurring payment through the API (which was also initially begun through the API) when my customers upgrade/downgrade their service? Storing credit card numbers on my own server is not something I am willing to do.
I would also appreciate any recommended processors that offer LinkPoint.
