Regards Stan Marsh 07-27-2006, 12:58 PM In which activities? Dominatic 07-27-2006, 01:03 PM In which activities? To registration, expiration of domains, etc, for example in the whois Stan Marsh 07-27-2006, 01:49 PM I don't think that registrar's timezone really matters here. It's *REGISTRIES* you must investigate. Good luck! BrookeM 07-27-2006, 03:01 PM The timezone that appears in the whois of a domain depends on the timezone of the organization you're getting the whois results from. I remember a customer arguing with me about a domain that according to Network Solutions wasn't supposed to go into redemption until 4:00PM, while I was looking at the whois results from Internic.net that showed the domain going into redemption at 1:00PM. Since Nework Solutions is based in Virgina, and ICANN is based in California, the times in the whois results were different. Basically, find out where the organization providing the whois search is based, and most likely the times in the whois results will be based on the timezone of their location. You might want to verify the timezone of the whois results with an organization if you are using their whois frequently. Dominatic 07-27-2006, 03:32 PM I am using http://www.mattsscripts.co.uk/mwhois.htm (to search domains) and I buy my domains in Enom What timezone will have these domains? Dominatic 07-27-2006, 03:46 PM aaa ok, I am understanding, then the timezone of the registries is ICANN (California) seem be is GMT -8 PACIFIC TIME , is correct? Dominatic 07-27-2006, 04:18 PM Somebody say me in other forum, the timezone is GMT+0 http://www.hostingdiscussion.com/domain-name-issues/9137-what-timezone-using-registries.html#post41284 Is true? BrookeM 07-27-2006, 05:05 PM aaa ok, I am understanding, then the timezone of the registries is ICANN (California) seem be is GMT -8 PACIFIC TIME , is correct? No, the timezone is going to vary based on the organization you get the whois results from. Depending on where http://www.mattsscripts.co.uk/mwhois.htm is located (I would assume the UK based on their URL) that will determine what timezone the times in the whois results show. Regardless, it would be wise to contact http://www.mattsscripts.co.uk/mwhois.htm and verify with them that they are in a particular timezone, and that the times given in their whois results are from that timezone. |
