Ok quick few questions

on my personal server im currently running plesk 7.5.4, is it worth upgrading to 8? like any major benefits they found , do i need plesk to update my key and will it cost, and has anyone had any major problems when upgrading,

Plesk 8 has some nice new features, but it depends if they are worth it to you. The cost of upgrading is nothing presuming the SUS on the license is still active, you get a years update included.

Plesk does have some nice features, but there's also a few small bugs still. My advice would be not to upgrade unless you're a very good system administrator or know someone who is.

I believe some people have had problems upgrading to 8.0.0, but now that 8.0.1 is out, hopefully they've fixed it.

Wait, 7.5.4 for windows? 8 is only Linux isn't it? I thought the most current windows was 7.5.6

Most 7.5.4 -> 8.0.0 upgrades went flawlessly, one resulted in a complete nightmare. I would not do it again. Backup -> Restore to new box is easier.

As for as i know, i still didn't get any STANDARD good update about this version.... Better to stay away from the upgrade process

7.5.4 is the last release of 7.5 for *nix, 8.0.x is *nix only.

The latest version for Windows 2003 Plesk is 7.6.1

yeah I figured that out. I was confused because they're close rev numbers on both windows and linux. I have some of both.

I don't know the latest revs because I only really pay attention to what the provider supports. AKA: I'm lazy

I myself use plesk 8 and it does have a lot of nice new features. Upgrade went perfectly, no issues what so ever.
