View Full Version : pearhost.com... any experiences?
Hi,
I'm thinking of transferring my domain to pearhost as they offer a lot for a reasonable price.
Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they any good?
Thanks.
sweethorizons 06-05-2002, 09:03 PM I would give them a try, and tell me how it goes. They post alot of the speical's part of the board. You can find great deals there and they seem to have a good thing going for them. Some great hosts that I currently know of are jatol.com, dim8.net, ****************, cyberpixels.com, supremehost.co.uk, and webhostile.com.
AcuNett 06-05-2002, 09:19 PM Guess not ;)
I host 2 of my website at pearhost. They are GREAT!
Support are great, server is stable, features are great.
Price is affordable.

sounds kinda fruity. ;) :D
dallaschic 06-06-2002, 03:32 AM yanno I like their prices and things, but it dosen't tell you on there the amount that you get with each feature, ie: 5 ftp accounts or 5 pop3 emails, that would be nice if they can add that information so that people can make the best choice.:D
ozzie 06-06-2002, 09:21 PM On their site, click on the prices on the left, you go to a new page with a comparison of the plans. It says unlimited for both POP3 and FTP accounts.
BTW, I am not associated with Pearhost nor do I have an account there, just reponding in the interests of accuracy.

avara 06-06-2002, 09:55 PM A good friend of mine has a couple of sites hosted with Pear, and he's very happy. You might also want to try doing a search on them -- I don't think you'll find anything negative.
Even though there are (unfortunately) many bad web hosts out there, pear is one of the good ones. You can't go wrong with them. :)

Perhaps you are thinking of "pair Networks, Inc" commonly found at pair.com, not pearhost.com.
WHOIS on pearhost.com shows the following, which is not affiliated with pair Networks, Inc.

AuYee 06-29-2002, 05:30 PM jpkl, you said that pearhost's servers are stable, but their main site seems to be down right now. I'm not trying to be antagonistic or anything, but I've been considering moving to pearhost at the end of august so I'm wondering if you (or anyone else) have had any downtime since the post above.
thanks.
I run 2 online shop at pearhost, never had huge problem.
Only minor problem such as email, but they fixed it in less than 1 day.
They are good, customer service respond REALLY fast. Lotsa features too.
AuYee 06-30-2002, 11:58 PM yes, i had looked at their main site before and really liked the features they had, and at a price that I could afford (i'm an unemployed student), but neither my friend (in florida) or i (in nyc) are able to see it right now. i'm just wondering if it's a problem with their server or if this might be a sign that they're no longer taking new customers or whatnot. I'm changing hosts at the end of august so if pearhost isn't available anymore, i'll need to look around for other hosts that are within my budget.
omg, I've just realised pearhost.com main page is down for so long.
but my 2 website which I hosted at their server are still working.
Any advise? I tried email them, but it bounch back
BISON 07-02-2002, 11:16 PM I went to www.pearhost.com but it gives me
The system detected a DNS Server Failure while attempting to retrieve the URL: http://www.pearhost.com/
did they chang their address or do they have some problems?

ratidol 07-03-2002, 02:06 PM Pearhost changed their name to berryhost, if you look through this thread you can see why.
