DimensionServers 07-25-2006, 09:12 PM I dont think many people use macs for servers as they are expensive, so I dont think there is that much of a market for such a product bithost(NET) 07-26-2006, 04:15 AM Hell no, there is no need to wreck such a beautiful OS. ;) Don't get me wrong, my clients and I both like cPanel, and it's what we use on all our boxes. However we also use OS X in the office (exclusively) and the OS is terrific. I see no need to monkey with OS X in such a way that cPanel does. If I was in the Xserve market I would definitely looking for a different type quality product than cPanel. ;) :D Bailey Devin-VST 07-26-2006, 09:14 AM There are many organizations that use Macintosh servers, but they just aren't in the hosting business and probably have no need for cpanel. OSX has all its virtualhosting and stuff built into the control panel anyways. rushweb 07-26-2006, 09:52 PM I thought that they were working on a version for Mac OS X. It was listed on the development page for awhile but I do not see it now. bithost(NET) 07-27-2006, 01:10 AM It's been listed for years, never has happened though. :D Bailey nickn 07-27-2006, 02:13 AM Hi Folks :) At this time, we have our resources dedicated to the release of our cPanel for Windows product. I still can not give an exact date, but I can promise you it is very close...and I honestly feel, you guys will be very impressed :thumb Eased 07-27-2006, 02:25 AM It's been listed for years, never has happened though. :D Bailey Yea thats what I was thinking. Its been on cPanel's to do list for a long time. They just haven't gotten around to look at the other not so popular hosting operating systems yet. It will happen, eventually. SollarSystems 07-27-2006, 02:42 AM Hi nickn, Can we get a "sneak peak" at the new look of cpanel? Petermjjh 07-27-2006, 09:35 PM I use OS X as my primary computer but they are moving to Intel processors so it would make no sence because Macs cost more a will go just as fast as a linux box from Intel. mholm59 09-28-2007, 09:54 AM Mac's processors are far better in terms of processing capacity. Try running a billion mysql commands on a Mac that has mysql installed and run the same billion commands on a server that is a PC. The Mac will win hands-down. I'll be one of the first customers for cPanel on a Mac server, when its ready..... |
