Can you suggest some Canada based hosts? I have found a few but I what to know all (if possible) options out there.

There's one in particular that I've found that interests me.... www.canadian-hosting.com. The appear to have what I want, especially the low price. But their site is not the best for info. Have any of you heard or dealt with them? Or how about www.webspacegroup.com? They (c-h.com) say that they are a part of that group

offhand, radiant.net i know is canadian, but i don't know if they're good or not.

webhosting.com was canadian, but is now owned by SBC.

I used Radiant a number of years ago to host a corporate site and they were pretty decent.

But to be honest, the values offered by quality US hosters are hard to resist and I was lured down south long ago.

Website says they are in the Okanagan Valley of BC. Seem to be pretty popular around here.

One problem I find with any of these hosts, even before this incident, is that they quote prices in US$ and with the exchange being so nasty, it makes it difficult on the budget. The only reason I moved to paid hosting cause I was sick and tired of all the crap I had to deal with on 'free' hosts.
I think I current host (hostrocket.com) is wunderbar but it's the exchange that's making me look elsewhere *sigh*

I host with hosting.ca, and they're a great bunch of guys that will do the best, and give you the best service possible. Their prices are great in the higher and packages..

That tophosts.com or whatever is a good idea too.
