Ok. Time for a little fun. What is everybody's favorite and most disliked control panel.

I'll start it off...

Best: Enom - (easy to use and fast)
Worst: LogicBoxes (directi, stargate, etc) - (unfriendly and illogical)

Best: Enom (hands down)
Worst: Network Solutions (jump through pages of ads to get to the function)

best enom (Nothing beats it as on date)
worse LogicBoxes (Has no logic in the box) but still no ads

Godaddy, Registerfly, Netsol --- Nothing but Ads

I agree with the above of Enom being the best (I have used anyways)

Worst: Godaddy, I can't stand it, it annoys me any time I have to edit something, which is way I moved everything away from them.

When I started this thread, I'd imagined 1 best and 1 worst. But of course (err sorry for the plagirism Stan) there's always more than 1 :)

So I agree with others that GoDaddy and Registerfly CP's aren't good at all. I've never bought anything from NetSol (besides my old domain, which they allowed to expire, but that's a long time ago). But any registrar which plagues you with ads, is definitely bottom of the pile. (I don't understand NetSol's need to do that since they are already charging premium prices).

I also agree that Enom's CP stands head n shoulders above the rest. It stays focussed on the task at hand, has very few graphics and no ads. So it's fast.

I'd like to see some more opinions from others.

Hi,
Best: Enom - We get used :)
Worst: BulkRegister (I lose +500 domains at .... long story)

ps. if you inject 6mg of BulkRegister in a living person at once he/she will die.

Best: Enom - (easy to use and fast)
Worst: LogicBoxes (directi, stargate, etc) - (unfriendly and illogical)
I'm using eNom since 2001 with their simple end-user control panel which was revolutionary that days against Bulkregister which also was cheaper ~80$ to sign reseller, Now there is many control panels available but LogicBoxes is much favored for the multi language interface which is preferred by all non english users.

Imagine how many users Windows lost for DOS since 1985 then remember that before Microsoft support multi language at 1990/93 in Windows 3.x they never succeeded to spread out Windows for 10 years against the other publishing software at that time such as Ventura and Mac.

Now think in present time what will be left to the 1st NSI if the worlds 2nd Registrar "eNom" can add multi language support to their end-user control panels ? Microsoft history may repeat it self and they may be able to do something against the Virisign rules RGP which also not so bad since it stop the work of domain theft so called backorder.

Network Solutions jump through pages of ads to get to the function
Are they shows Ads in the paid services pages!! How come ?

Worst: Godaddy, I can't stand it, it annoys me any time I have to edit something, which is way I moved everything away from them.
It's like a mall, They need some chairs changes, Or add some :)

Note: eNom support now is no thing like before but it still fine.

Question about NameCheap. Their privacy policy specifically states that they will sell your email to web marketers. Have you had any trouble with that?

I have checked the Privacy Policy but did not find anything similar. Can you please provide more details?

If you read the one of the web site it doesn't say that. If you sign up for a new account it does. PS:Accounts are free to setup and you don't need a domain

Which email do they sell? The email that you use to sign up for a new account, or the email that you fill in to the whois information (this makes whoisguard less useful).

Now that you mentioned whoisguard, iPower is saying it is free with their domains, but their control panel is opensrs/Tucows, which is cruel and unusual punishment if you have lots of domains. There, each domain must be administered separately, parked domains point to advertiser's sites. E.G. say you have one that is ABCAccounting.com. They will point it at their page of accountant advertising. There is no opt out unless you unpark it. It does come with free email. That feature lost value for email-only accounts because the unreliability, time spent with tech support, unauthorized advertising, and the availability of unlimited reseller hosting elswhere for $15/mo. that included good reliability and excellent tech support.

Best Enom :)
Worst Godaddy.. Godaddy is horrible at almost everything :) I keep hearing Enom but when I go there, it seems that to register a domain costs $30 each vs. $9 at and other places with similar services and control panels. I have 50 domains which would mean $1500/year vs $450/yr. Am I missing something?

you can get enom account under $10 with reseller

you can get enom account under $10 with resellerNow we're talking. So either I should be a reseller, or buy from one. I could bring at least 50 in 5 minutes. If I don't want to do that, can you give me the name of a reseller?

Thanks!

disclaimer: I have NO accounts to give away/sell.

$8.95 accounts can be gotten for free from various member who post here. Just trawl back a few days/weeks in this forum and you'll come across some via their sigs.

$7.95 accounts are pretty rare, but I think you get one for free if you buy ClientExec (someone correct me if I'm wrong?).

$6.95 accounts can be bought for $150-$250. Again, just search the threads in this forum and some names will start popping up. You might have to go back a few months, though.

No prob. And if you look a few posts down (here: http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=536349) you'll see that it's actually ModernBill and not ClientExec.
