Is there a way to host multiple domains on one account without having to set the accounts up as a reseller? I was told that is the only way to do this. However, I was once on a host where I could do this without being a reseller. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Andrew
It really depends on the host. Quite a few hosts offer the ability to host multiple domains/websites on a single account without special reseller rights. So yes, it is possible ;)

Hi Deb,
Do you have any idea how they do it?
*Off Topic* I set a company I did a website for up on FutureQuest and the service is awesome.

I am a little confused by your post...
Are you running a hosting business and trying to offer this to your clients? If so, what control panel are you using...? That may be the determining factor...
Thanks for the kudos... as far as "how" that too depends on the host and type of setup they have. I'd have to ditto "TheException's" questions as there simply isn't enough information and some hosts accomplish the task differently than others. Additionally, to disclaim myself... I'm not the tech and simply depend on our own techs for that functionality so I'm of little help in trying to explain "how"

Well, I'll pipe in with how to do it with WHM/CPanel. Just park a domain on top of a user's subdomain using the "domain parking" feature of WHM.

Sounds to simplistic, isn't it? How do you set mailbox for different domains? Say you have www.one.com and www.two.com, how do you set up mailboxes for both domains, one.com and two.com ? I've tried this but to no avail. What you call multiple domain hosting in CPanel basically works just like subdomains.
Very diffferent with HSphere which truely offer a multiple domains hosting solution.

If you can set up subdomains on your account one was to do it is to alias the other domain names to subdomains. That will give each domain it's own folder.

This is easily accomplished if your host is using H Sphere as their control panel. Multiple domains on one account, each with their own email. Also you can have email for parked domains and sub domains as well.

I am not sure whether you speak from experience with Cpanel or you just theoritizing something. Again, how would Cpanel handles emails for different domains in this case?
