I just got an order and like an idiot processed it.

$575.00/mo dedicated server.

Now, after attempting to call the 1(866) number provided to me as the billing telephone number and not getting anyone, i checked the email details and found the following IP
212.187.236.25 -- this IP shows up to be LEVEL-3 in London, when on his billing info, it states that he is in New York City.

What do I do to verify that this is truely who he says he is? And if its not, should I even worry about a chargeback?

If we question a charge that comes through we contact the user by phone or email. If we can't get them within a few days we cancel. If you get a lot of chargebacks you can get dropped by your merchant bank. Even though you are not at fault the bank looks to you (and me) to watchout for charges that could be fraud. We stopped about 10 fraud charges this month already. We now verify each one and make sure the full address matches and also the CVV2 # matches

An important new security feature for card-not-present transactions now appears on the back of most credit cards. This new feature is a three-digit value which provides a cryptographic check of the information embossed on the card.

CVV2's Location:
The CVV2 three-digit value for Visa/MasterCard, four-digit for Amex, is printed on the signature panel on the back of credit cards immediately following the card account number.

The CVV2 value helps validate two things:
The customer has their credit card in his/her possession.
The card account is legitimate.

CVV2 is not contained in the magnetic stripe information, nor does it appear on sales receipts.

Good luck.. but if you don;t feel right about the charge I would not keep it. You will wind up giving it back later.

Also we questioned a few charges in the past the customer was happy knowing that we just don't take everything that comes our way.

My 2 cents.. And yes it is certified money :D

I also check up on their IP Address. If the IP address doesnt match where the order address is coming from, especially if it is really off, I dont process the order. Some say that is a risk of losing clients, but I have yet for anyone to email me back and say... "that card was good". They usally dont respond at all.

Well I just got an order also and I registered the domain like an idiot. With 2checkout how the heck am I supposed to know if the order is real or not? I'm really sick of all this fraud - probably 75% fraud rate on my signups. With 2checkout.com is there any way possible for me to know that even though the order shows up - that it is a good order or not? If there isn't I might have to switch back to revecom even though I get screwed a dollar each on fraud orders.

Revecom isn't failsafe by any means ;). When in doubt, call or email them. If no response within 2 or 3 days refund the money.
