Mods, please move this if this is in the wrong forum.
Basically I notice a lot of things wrong or missing with CMS's like phpnuke for instance. Im wondering if someone was to say go ahead and create a commercial CMS what they would like to see.
Things i notice:
- Most CMS are horrible with incorporating custom designs due to the default content layouts and menus
- The install process is usually easy, but for the average joe who doesnt know anything about computers.. it may become difficult
- A lot of add-on feautres that are made by 3rd party programmers have bugs and you cant get much support...

I'd like to see one with the template setup based on something like PHP include. Then you just design a site like nromal, and include certain features or call a function and it bring in element that the CMS control.

Heres a few I'd like to see...
- Full templating support in all areas.
- Security!
- Efficient code.
- Reusable functions.
- Easy to develop for.
- Excellent deveopment team.
Those are just a few I can think of offhand...

Great, this is all being used in my next project just so you guys know :) so keep them coming.
A feature i would think many people would like to see is instead of using templates, or even as an additional feature to add on with the use of templates, is with using your own design, instead of making it around the CMS, you can just fill in menu links with the CMS links and fill in content sections on your site with CMS code.
For instance, in the admin panel section there is a 'layout' page, and each section/feature of the CMS system has its snippet of code that acts as a plug-in into the CMS and you copy/paste it into the .html pages. If that makes sense.

Well I dont use a Nuke like CMS but I do use Etomite. My hosting sites design does not look like some cookie cutter template. Everything was placed with simple tags where ever I want it.
As for support wise the Etomite community is quite helpful even from the admins.
