Well, lets say I have a site, that use up 50MB of storage space. How is bandwidth measure per visitor ? And how about a file (10MB) to be downloaded?

How is bandwidth measure per visitor ? And how about a file (10MB) to be downloaded? Irrelevent, data transfer != bandwidth. On a typical shared site accounting measurements are taken based on data transfer. So, each site can transfer x amount of data every month. That transfer can be 1 10 MB file, or 1,000,000 1 byte files all that is tabulated is how much data is transferred. Now you can measure by bandwidth, but not for individual sites, it has to be done at the server level. I can say, I am going to limit this server to a 512 kilobit connection. In a case like that you would be able to transfer as much data as you wanted, but you could never break the 512 kilobit barrier. |
