I was wondering. What subjects do your clients basically need support for:

I can think of some.

Domain Name issues
Email Account configuring issues
File uploading issues
Web Design issues
Web Page not appearing issues
etc.

Any more popular topics on which the average client requires support?

I am hoping you meant 'how to configure their POP Email Account with an offline email client such as OE, Eudora, Netscape Messenger? Did you? :D

If its script installations that require support, then what types of scripts would these generally be for?

Thanks.

Well, in my experience, if you use a control panel then you will get a lot more requests on all the options there [like anonymous FTP, password protecting directories, my forums not working, entropy chat and all the bull there]

I have moved all my sites from a CPanel enviroment to FreeBSD with only qmailadmin and phpmyadmin as CP, and my support emails have dropped from 2-3 per day to 2-3 per week.

Control Panels are intended to reduce the client's dependency on the host , but they work the other way.

Just something to think about! :)

If you are using a cp, make sure you know all the options on it..

- domain issues (transfer etc)
- cgi scripts (setting up etc.)
- front page (I hate FP!)
- uploading web pages

those are most common support requests for us.
