I request all resellers to vote. Such a poll would only help if there were a substantial number of votes.

Relevant comments regarding webspace usage of clients would be really welcome too if there is a wise point to be made.

Being that I am the webmaster of the majority of the websites that I host, they are pretty small. I delete all unwanted files and am able to optimize the websites.

As for a fulltime hosting company, I guess that would depend on the type of users they attract...

you also have to consider the percieved client requirements...
say Joe Blow uses 10MB....chances are he would buy an account with 40MB+
this is for many reasons, from future growth to overestimation.
thats where overcommiting your resources comes in...

From one extreme to another, we had to delete a 10GB (yes, 10 Gigabytes) log file this morning :rolleyes:

We tend to find that the average 25MB account uses between 5-10MB and a 50MB account holder would use absolutely everything and then complain that they are not receiving emails

But I think we need a much bigger poll to get any reasonable idea yet.

Most of our clients use under 10 meg, there are a couple who use about 50, but the site with the largest amount of space used is probably our own because i never seem 2 find the time to delete those unwanted files.

Most of our clients use around 5-10 megs, althought we have some that use 20+, and a few just over 100.... one of the largest sites keeps all his various site incarnations archived there.

Now can you tell me how that can ever be achieved?
10GB is hell of a space hog!!!

How about a poll where we post the percentage of space used in relation to the amount of space people thought they might use?

My sites use anywhere from 25% to 50%, the reason being that more features are available with the bigger account offerings.
I don't mind the 75% to 50% cushion.
