Ultraspeed are a rapidly growing Managed Hosting specialist, due to our expanding customer base we now have a vacancy for a Systems Engineer based from our lively and dynamic London office.
Job title: Systems Engineer
Ultraspeed are looking for a talented individual to take a key role in our Systems Engineering team, the right person will be responsible for building and maintaining robust and reliable hosting solutions based on Linux and Windows platforms for Ultraspeed's enterprise customers.
Experience: You will have 2+ years Linux or Windows administration experience in a customer facing context.
Personal skills: You will be a self starter, act with conviction and initiative at all times. You will be an excellent communicator, both internally and externally. You will thrive under pressure. You will be an excellent team player.
Technical skills:
You will have experience running a variety of Linux and Windows variants, experience of Windows 2003 Server, Redhat Enterprise, Fedora and CentOS is ideal.
You will have experience running a variety of applications in an always on environment, both open source and binary, such as: Apache, Mysql, Exim, IIS, SQL Server.
Experience of load balancing and firewall configuration and operation.
Experience of web based control panels for Linux and Windows is ideal, but not essential. (Eg, Cpanel,Hsphere)
Compensation: 20k – 25k per annum, dependent on experience. Private health care, bonus scheme, Stakeholder pension and share options.
This position is based from our office near Liverpool Street, London. Some flexible working will be possible. Applicants must be resident in the UK (and hold relevant work permits) and have excellent written and oral English communication skills.
