We are broadcasting live from the WHT Oasis. (No swimming alowed!)

It just started, so not much to report.

But here we are. And will be back with updates as soon as there's something to update.

NOTICE: I stopped by the Oasis and there was an old man there handing out pardons to any and all banned members! Get 'em while they last!

Sorry SWR, had to do it.

Thanks for all the members who have stopped by so far. It is great to meet everyone and put a face to the name. Remember we will be in the booth all day today with fresh cold water and yummy trail mix.

That water was a good idea. No matter how dry 110 is still HOT!

Hey everyone! Just sitting in the public access area waiting for the exhibitor hall to open, enjoying a little breakfast with Corey Bryant and crew :)

Vegas has been a blast so far! Tonight is my late night (I've been taking it easy in anticipation of tonight). Can't wait to put more names and faces together. When you come up to the WHT Oasis, remember to introduce yourself by WHT name too ;)

no, most likely internet is down, wifi around all the vegas hotel and hotspots sucks. There is nothing good. BLuetooth to cell has been my only reliable internet! and that is sad.

I believe next year we need a the_pm dunking booth.

That would sure bring out the crowds. :)

We did have some issues the first day (Monday) on our free wifi, once we got a Cisco wifi router setup it has been great, the wifi in the rooms of the Mirage has screamed for me also. I've had several different term service connections running at once with no issues nor disconnections..

Hello Frank,

I still had issues all day yesterday, internet would work 45 seconds and die, then 5 min later come up work a few minutes, and die.

the SSID for the Mirage, would never give IP addresses, this was in the C1-3 rooms all day yesterday. I did get on once from the keynote area, but it was very congested and cellular connection was faster. ;)

Any thoughts of having the conference on the weekend instead of during the week?

We know that wi-fi in the conference rooms was an issue and it's something we'll be addressing for next year.

As to holding it on the weekend, no. First off, it's SUPER expensive. Hotel rooms are much more expensive on the weekend and there is also overtime and such for setting the exhibit hall up, the audio/video techs, etc. Plus, people usually do not like to spend their weekends working. It's just not something that's usually done in industry tradeshows.

I would like to thank all the members that stopped by the booth during HostingCon. It was a real treat getting to meet eveyone.

Vegas turned out pretty well. After the dust settles and opinions are heard I expect next year to be bigger and better!

We only used the conference hall wifi once (without issue) and the rest of the time was in the Mirage hotel room (infact I am using it now, Matt and I dont leave until tomorrow), worked absolutely perfectly the whole time. No complaints.

Hey Simon,

Yeah the internet at TI is great as well. I enjoyed hostingcon overall, depending on the location I might come again next year :)

As for the conferences I hope we can see some of the presentations posted for attendees online as I missed some stuff. Other than that I think things went pretty well this year :)

How did your grand canyon tour go by the way?
