Hi,

I'm the webmaster for a french canadian music groups. The site gets about a thousand visitors each day. We have a multimedia section with a few mp3 and some quicktime videos. This creates a lot of bandwith. When I add a new video, we get about 2 gigs of transfert each day for a couple days. When they released their new albums last march, we got 2 gigs a day for the whole month.

The site is now hosted where I work, but the compagny is going under, so basically, I need to find a good hosting service that can accomodate that much bandwith. The band is not really big now so they don't really have a budget for this. So the cheaper the better, but I still want a good provider.

I found a few lists of bad hosting compagny, but not many for good compagnies. So please send me any suggestions you might have.

Thanks in advance

Marc (mdesjard16@sympatico.ca)

Depends, how many albums or mp3 files do you have hosted? Also how many videos are you letting your users download? If you are streaming media, you will probably need to go with a didicated server.

we only have a few mp3, like 5 or 6, samples and tracks not on the albums. But we have about 10-20 quicktime video. The quicktime plugin for browser clients handles the streaming, so there's is no special server required. It just plays as it downloads...
