Hi Guys,

I was just wondering what is the lowest possible price for a com domain name ? I'm planning to purchase about 100 domains in a few weeks. The best offers I found were 6,95$. There were cheaper ones but they came with a hosting plan. Is a price lower than 6,95$ possible or is it the bottom price ?

Hi that is alot of domains. I think 6.95 just for a domain only purchase is a good price.

Enom reseller accounts at 6.95 are few a far between these days so finding someone who can actually register a name for that price after fees will be tough.

I could be wrong though.

If you consider that the average registrar cost per domain are (for .com) :

6 (registry owner) + 0.25 (icann) + credit card processing fee
you will understand that offers lower than this will try with other methods (good or bad) to get their profit

RegisterFly.com is now offering free $6.50 reseller accounts for a limited time. We have not started using the account yet, but as far as I can tell, all domains that you order through your own RegisterFly API are a flat-rate of $6.50. Seems like a great deal and a good way to save $0.45/domain!

I dont get it, I would never register with some unknown registra or small time ot save 2Bucks.

I like using GoDaddy and will continue to resgiter all my domains with them.

I actually use ipower.com to buy domains and it has a great price and renew price.. but the only problem is that i cant manage all of them together.

I have 10 domains with Yahoo Small Business and from 1 control panel i can manage all of them :)

Hi Guys, thanks for all the response and keep it coming :-) I'm now with Namecheap and I asked for a special promotional code. Got one but it's only 1$ off of the normal price. That's why I was looking for a cheaper alternative. I'm very very happy about Namecheap's service though ...

Wouldn't it require to deposit $669 prepay?

Contact stargate.com. You might get with less deposit for $6.99 pricing or even with zero deposit needed. Mention about WHT. :) Their management interface is LogicBox UI and it's is quite simple and easy to use.

I think people are getting confused in regards to actually registering a domain with a approved registrant and with some host who is giving you a domain for cheaper or even free and then in turn registering it through the registrant which they use.

If someone is selling hosting a common tactic is to offer the domain for cheap e.g .99 cent or so, by doing this they are getting a customer and eating whatever the difference in price is and just considering it a cost to obtain a new customer.

Same with godaddy, they offer cheaper domains than $8.95 but you need to signup for another GD service to get it at that price.

As someone who knows Zilch about webhosting but own/owned nearly 5000 domains I can tell you categorically that the professional domainers registrar of choice is Moniker.com..

if you send an email to Monte Cahn (their CEO) and tell him your plans you might be pleasantly surprised..

I've had a pretty bad experience with ******. firstly, after registering you'd have this really irritating salesperson call your number you registered with that keeps trying to get you to use their hosting services. I've had their site kick out on me and not let me login when i tried to renew the domain, and when i transferred my domain out they still tried to bill me. I'd say don't be fooled by the low price, its not worth it.
