Hi,
I'm managing a high-traffic web site on Interland servers. It uses a shared account. We rarely have server down times, however when it's down it's really hard to reach technical people on the phone to make it up again. (You can't imagine how stupid it is, I open a ticket to tell the server is down, half hour later it's up again, then 6-7 hours later ticket is answered like "we are able to see your web site, there is no problem!" )
I'm sure you can imagine how much it costs to bring thousands of people to a web site and not selling anything due to the server problems.
Is there anybody who has or a web master of a high-traffic e-commerce web site and uses a shared hosting without serious problems? So I can consider switching to another hosting or even a co-located server if it's a "shared" problem.

what you are wanting?
If as you say, you rarely have down time and it is only down for a half an hour then back up, you are asking for fantasy land if you are looking for 100% uptime forever.
Every host no matter who they are is going to experience some down time, the test is how they handle it, how fast they get it back up and how often it happens.
Dunno unless it happens often and is down for a while I suggest you hang where you are.

Thanks. That's what I was asking.
What I want is, I want a technical support, not a phone answerer. When I have weird connection problems (for example database randomly returns empty recordset, and I couldn't get any update about this issue after 12 hrs.), or ASP server errors (not because of my 1-year old code) I don't want to hear "I checked the server logs, your server has been 100% UP DURING THE LAST WEEK!!!"
I'm not sure who is on fantasy island...
Conclusion:
With the new search engines, you have to pay lots of dollars for each click. When your server is down, they still click, you still pay, but you can't sell any damn thing. Then you're dead. I MUST find a hosting who HONOR their %99.99 up time promise!

not getting the services you think you should then yeah move. But be aware not many host have live phone support most use a ticket support system and there are many reasons for that.
We ourselves have an emergency 800 number which pages everyone where they are at, and we call the customer back. But we request it only be used for emergencies and will ask a client to leave us after 2 warnings if they abuse it.
If live phone support is what you need, expect to pay very well for that service as it cost many $$ to have a tech answer the phone since he can handle only one customer at a time that way.
If you want suggestions you need to be more specfic in what you are looking for such as space bandwidth windows or linux etc.
I am sure more people will give you opinions on what they use.
Good luck in your search.

I know How you feel. When i first started out I had our sites hosted with Interland... Then when the server goes down.. I would issue a support ticket and get the same message as you did..
