is this the proper way to set up domain name pointing on a raq4r?
normal DNS entries for both domains separately.
insert the domain name to be pointed in the "web server alias" field of "site settings" in "site management" of the destination domain. only the destination domain is set up on the raq as a web site.

So you didn't set up this domain with a dedicated IP address (the main one), correct? If so, just point DNS to the IP address. If not, in theory, you just enter the domain (with and without the www, into the alias field on the main domain. I say in theory, since although I just got a 4r, I haven't tried this yet.

when i set up the alias domain on the raq i didn't put it in as http://www.alias.com only alias.com and it works great. i set up the DNS on tera-byte's control panel just like any other domain name that i am hosting.
check out my next thread "sometimes domain.com resolves sometimes not on raq4?"

I just set one up this morning, very nice. I have a issue though that doesn't work but I'll start a thread about it and not piggy this one when I get back from work.
