View Full Version : Need Good, Cheap Reseller
Milque 07-15-2006, 03:50 AM Hi there. This is my first time posting here, since I figured this would be the best place to ask.
I'm looking for a good reseller hosting that is cheap and reliable.
Disk space: Around 7-10 Gb (if more, better)
Bandwith: 150-250 Gb (again, the more the better)
CPanel
Unlimited domains
Unlimited subdomains
Supports PHP, SSI, CGI, Perl, etc.
99.9% uptime
My budget would be around $ 200-300 US.
Oh, and there is a cheap reseller hosting at iiPanel Webhosting. But since I know nobody using their services, I don't know how good they are. Can anybody shed some light?
Please and thank you.
Lubby 07-15-2006, 10:19 AM Welcome to WHT!
I assume your budget is yearly not monthly.
You probably could find a host offering those amount of resources for your budget, however they'd probably be overselling.
Another option you may want to look at is a VPS plan. It might prove to be more beneficial to you.
Good luck!
Duport 07-15-2006, 10:42 AM What do you need this amount of disk space for?
ldcdc 07-15-2006, 02:08 PM IMO, especially when it comes to bying reseller packages, it's good to take a look at the prices of dedicated servers. Sometimes the provider you plan to use sells dedicated servers as well. This enables you to guesstimate the likelyhood and/or the amount of overselling of their reseller packages. :)
IMHO your buydget is a little to low for a comfortable feeling of "this provider will provide great service and definitely be around next year", but that's just me.
Reseller hosting should never be confused with shared hosting. Shared hosting can be "cheaper" due to more overselling being sustainable.
HostTitan 07-15-2006, 08:51 PM If its 200-300/monthly, then you can get a pretty decent dedicated server that's managed by competent people with much higher disk and bandwidth allotments than what you just listed. If its 200-300 anually, you will likely still be able to get what you need but my advise would be to ask questions, especially regarding things such as backup, quality of network, and the type of servers they'll put you on.
pheny 07-15-2006, 09:06 PM he is looking for Cheap Reseller so I suppose $200-300 budget is yearly not monthly.
try jaguarpc.com, they offer 10GB/100GB for $250
Milque 07-16-2006, 02:49 AM Ah yes, I'm sorry I forgot to specify my budget. It's $200-300 anually.
Duport, I was thinking of setting up hosting services to other people with a reseller.
And thanks for your suggestions. I think the solution here is raise my budget, or buy shared hosting?
HDCraig 07-16-2006, 04:50 AM Hello Milque
Are you looking for UK, USA hosting or any other country?.
Milque 07-17-2006, 02:31 AM HDCraig, preferably, I would like to get international hosting. I'm not from USA, nor am I from UK.
premium20 07-17-2006, 03:00 AM If you are thinking of setting up hosting for other people, I would presume that you are still in the planning stage of your venture. Do yourself a favor and try to make a business plan that sustains itself. And to have a sustainable business, you will need to add the costs of a good decent provider and promotion in there.
And I guess, you should be fine with a 5 Gb reseller to begin with. Another advice for you - Avoid paying yearly, try to pay monthly fees to provider. It will save you a lot of hassle if your provider goes through unforeseen happenings.
Shock Hosts 07-17-2006, 03:17 AM I suggest you take a look at resellerzoom.com. They have discounted yearly rates I think.
ServerOrigin 07-17-2006, 03:31 AM He is right by paying yearly you may stick yourself with a host that is not reliable or may go out of business and you lose your money.
pheny 07-17-2006, 05:41 AM I suggest you take a look at resellerzoom.com. They have discounted yearly rates I think.
resellerzoom.com has not discounted yearly rates for small reseller plans.
HostTitan 07-17-2006, 10:31 AM You may be able to get the annual rates if you commit to a year but pay on a month-to-month basis. It might be a good option for you and there are several decent resellers available at that budget.
belkihos_sean 07-17-2006, 06:18 PM Hi,
You are right the hosts you find may not be that popular but you should contact support and ask for a free trial for say a month I am sure you will get one.
I don't think that many give out free trials, as that can lead to major abuse. What many hosts have is a moneyback guarantee, where the host has your financial situation and has already received payment. They'll refund you if you're not happy.
Personally, that's the safest way.
As for signing up for one year without trying them out for a few months or so..well, that's up to you. Even the most popular webhosts on WHT do get unhappy customers every now and then
