Two other capitalist uses for Red Star:

Red Star Yeast (currently)

Texaco Gas' Red Star symbol. It used to be in the their theme song ... "You can trust your car to the man who wears the star, the Big Red Texaco Star" ;)

Is it worth developing ? Well, that's up to you, fella. I think it's a good name, if you can hook it up some with service or product in a reasonable way. The ".org" is a problem of course.

I would think it's worth holding on to, at least.
