Hey All,
Just wondering if offering a "Site Builder" is very beneficial to a Hosting Business...
do customers actually take advantage of them?
And which builders are really good (and cheap to offer)?

You should do some searches for site builder software, there are a lot of threads about it. one of them very recent.
Although I offer sitebuilder, i dont think it is very beneficial. I offer it because a few people told me that cpanel is too compliacted for them.

What is your target market? If I was selling hosting to a bunch of design gurus a sitebuilder would be a waste, first time hosters would be much different.

I think it`s good to offer free of charge, just so you can attract those who never made a website before and just want something plain and simple.
Just like offering Installatrion or Fantastico for ease of use..

We added a free website builder to our system a few months ago and have a few clients using it. We decided to use RVsitebuilder (http://www.rvsitebuilder.com). Very affordable and pretty easy to use.

Yeah, offering it as a value added service is never a bad thing...especially if you're competition is offering it. Like the previous post though, it really depends on your market.

Generally few clients actually use it. Personally I don't think it helps very much in garnering sales. We have seen no uplift before and after offering sitebuilders.
There's a couple we have used:
Rvsitebuilder
Sitestudio

I think it really does depend on your target market, we promote our site builder to startup businesses and home users who often take advantage of the features that it offers.
