I just want to share my very bad experience with namecheap.I used their service for couple of months without any problem, however few days ago they just locked my account. When I contacted them they say its for fraud issues and they need to contact me regarding recent transaction.I checked my credit card statment and there is no problem with any namecheap transaction. They are all completed no chargeback or anything. They asked me for phone number where I can be reeched.I provided it,and nobody called me.Its been about 5 days now and no response to emails.I also said fine if you don't want to provide your service anymore its fine but please change status of domain from registrar-lock to active so I can transfer it,they even doesn't want to do that and hold my domain hostage.Very bad experience I recommend everybody to stay away from them

Does anyone else notice that it's usually one post wonders whose first language isn't English posting these threads.........just a thought that crossed my mind....

Just so we all can take a look can you tell us some of the domains in question?

RossH - They come here to let off steam. That's understandable.

rpglord - Send a PM to user enetwork, who owns NameCheap. He is generally very helpful. You will need to past at least 5 messages before you are allowed to send a Private Message.

They come here to let off steam.

It's too bad they let out steam too soon after finally replying the issue's resolved.
More so they don't know and don't seem to care to undestand how things go.

Some people...oh well...

I noticed those complaining being one post wonders with heavy accent too. However, I strongly suspect that this is because of the 'heavier' screening of some users by NameCheap themselves. I think that everyone will agree that orders from VietNam or Malaysia are screened much better that those from, say, Canada, USA or GB. That's how these non-native English speakers appear here...

Edit: Need to research details further.

Fraud is annoying... I haven't had problems with them, but cheers for the notice.

Issue was resolved. That's a plus for NameCheap, I'd say.

Why is the issue resolved only after the client makes a public complaint on WHT? If their customer service is so good, why are these issues not resolved when the client first raises them?

Stu, I don't see the issue as resolved. Richard's message above, prior to editing (I was lucky to 'catch' it) indicated that issue 'IS' resolved, but now I am not so sure.

It was resolved prior to my posting. I confused the issue for another and that is why it was edited.

WebBengal, please don't make assumptions based on a post here. There is a whole lot more to this than meets the eye. Let's just say it was a mutual parting of ways and leave it at that. His post here also had absolutely nothing to do with what type of support was received. I did not even see this post until yesterday.
