First of all, let me thank you for your time. I have been spending the last few hours searching the forums and researching my topic, but feel unsatisfied. I am in the process of writing my business plan for a web hosting company. I do not want to start a professional web hosting company on a reseller plan, but rather a dedicated server. I have looked at BurstNET (and the mixed reviews) and feel they cannot meet my needs. I need to know a good company (that’s not a dedicated server reseller) to buy a dedicated server from that offers average prices, great support and uptime. I am not looking at a budget dedicated server, but rather a quality one. It MUST be managed. I think a standard P4, 1gb, 1000-2000gb bandwidth, would be sufficient to start. Looking to spend $200-$300 a month is OK. Any thoughts?
Again, thanks for your time.

All I can tell you is, all the information you will ever need is on these forums. The "few hours" you spent is no where near enough. I've been researching here for the past couple of months straight and I'm slowly starting up my own business as well. There's a lot to be learned, even finding the right control panel or choosing the right OS takes weeks if you do it right.
Don't purely rely on what other people tell you, you need to find what works for you. I hope I didn't offend you in anyway, as this was not the intent...I'm in the same position as you and just giving advice on what I already started going through.
:)

:) Thanks for the tips. I currently do hosting a few friends and family members and the way I found a decent reseller was just trying them out. This was a TON of hassle as I went through numerous resellers in a month before I found one that I liked. I really dont want to have to do the same thing with dedicated servers. I have been researching on and off for a few months now on a decent dedicated server provider, but with so many, I am a little overwhelmed. No offense taken and thanks for your response.
As of right now, my top choices are hostdime.com and hostgator.com. The host gator rep I spoke to was very friendly.
This thread can be closed if you wish, I have found help in finding a decent host. Thanks WHT!
