I'm not a SEO expert, although I do have 1 tip of advice for you:

Modify your .htaccess file to allow both /rewrite and /rewrite/ urls to work. Many people use a trailing slash these days. This can be done by doing something like:

RewriteRule about/$ /index.php?url=about
RewriteRule about$ /index.php?url=about

(Assuming you're using variables). Oh well, I think you understand what I'm trying to say.
