If that is Cogent, that's on the expensive side.
You must resell?

Thats just silly, their site clearly says Yipes so I dont know where you got Cogent from. And besides if you think $4.99 a month is expensive then your not in touch with reality. Im tired of seeing so many posts where everyone thinks that hosting was built on $99 servers and $2 shared accounts. Just some thoughts....
Good luck with your new business Synhost, I wish you well.

Jag,
I totally agree and thanks for your comments -
I've been perusing WHT for a while now, and have seen so many complaints about hosts. I've talked to many webhosts who definately should not be in the business. I don't feel that webhosting should be a business for anyone with a little time on their hands - it should be something that someone takes on if they have the knowledge and experience to make it work right.
Too many hosts advertise unlimited x; too many hosts oversell majorly; too many hosts cancel accounts if you take up too much space, even if it is half what you paid for. Webhosting should be a Professional business. It should be service oriented, and the customer should expect a top level of service.
The main problem I will probably have is attracting customers, and even more importantly, educating customers that $8 a year for 200MB simply isnt practical, and that you get what you pay for.
Right now, this post to WHT is my first "marketing" of my site. I really am not sure what else to do to really make my business model of "professionalism" stand out from many other "unprofessional" sites. Basically I would like to target a class of customer that is willing to pay to get good service and support. If anyone has any other marketing ideas for my site, or for any web hosting business that targets the type of customer I am, please let me know.
Thank you,

Hello everyone - I would just like to tell all of you WebHostingTalkians (sorry, I just had to say that) that I recently switched my domain and hosting to SynHost.com and everything has been great. From the blazing fast server speeds to the helpful Ben on AIM :) , the whole hosting experience has been great. (The price is one of the best parts ;) Well, great job on a great hosting company Ben. It's nice to finally be able to find a host that actually cares about their clients.

I think all plans are nicely priced if the support is good. One has to make a profit you know and there are so many costs involved in a properly managed hosting business!
By the way, looking at your site from the viewpoint of a professional graphic designer and marketing consultant, I honestly think you should spruce up your website design. I personally feel it has a very 'boring' look. I think this is important for generating business *quicker* from new clients.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT to a new visitor at your site. Your current design creates a not-to-good first impression.
Other than that, everything looks perfect in the way you seem to run your business. I wish you the best of luck and super-fast prosperity.
