Skyview 07-09-2006, 05:30 AM $20 is very low considering how much it costs to buy or aquire clients via ads. Agreed. As a point of referent, Hostgator uses a tiered structure starting out at $50/referral. Onispawn 07-09-2006, 12:09 PM yes it is very low but when signing up it takes 1 - 2 months to see if they are still with the host then the affiliate is happily appraised with his 50. A twenty may be instantly when he signs up IHSL 07-09-2006, 12:28 PM $20 is very low considering how much it costs to buy or aquire clients via ads. It's all relative. You can't just say $20 is very low without knowing the hosting services that are involved and the company in question. Just because one company has a higher payout does not mean all others should follow. Keep in mind, also, that cost per client is different with every company. Some companies have a low cost per client because of their approach to marketing. Some companies have a higher cost per client for the same reasons. Those reasons can often depend on the company's ability to retain clients once they have signed up, long term goals of the company, and limitless reasons. It looks like it is more then they earn so how is it possible? Easy - some % of customers order from another computer or clear cookies. I have read a study which says that up to 50% of affiliate sales is lost due tracking issues. |
