before i do something stupid let me get this straight.

I'm using ZoneEdit to manage my DNS settings. Let's say I have a subdomain setup with ZoneEdit using the WebForward feature(http://sub.mydomain.com = http://www.mydomain.com/~sub).

I want to be able to offer email@sub.mydomain.com. In order to do this I goto the MX page is ZoneEdit and put sub.mydomain.com in the right box and sitemail.everyone.net in the left box(because I'm using the services of everyone.net).

What do I do with the drop down list if I already have another entry for a different domain(mydomain.com)? Should it be the same number?

Please tell me if I've done anything wrong before I screw something up.

I don't know exactly what you are doing, but I thought I'd add that you might also have to set up a CNAME for everyone.net as well that goes to siteurl.everyone.net

I dunno, I did this a long time ago, and I'm not even sure if they do it the same way anymore. I know they changed a few things (like that my subdomain doesn't even really work anymore, it just redirects to some everyone.net URL)...

Yes akashd you got it right. As for the box in the middle, you can leave it at the default value. It will not affect yourdomain.com since these are now two different domains, and will be handled by two different servers.

Chicken, I don't think te CNAME is necessary.

It was hard enough for me to find a low-cost host for my low-budget website(I highly don't recommend http://www.hosthem.com(aks hosthem.net) They are frauds, they take your money and sleep on it!

Hostyard.com however is exactly the opposite my site was setup within a couple of hours and they have almost everything i needed(telnet access wasn't available, but paying $30/year for what they give you......i felt it was worth giving up).

Also, thanks to this forum I learned almost everything there is to getting started with a new domain! It would have been impossible to do what I'm doing without this forum.
