Does anybody know of any datacenters in Albany, NY or Boston, MA?

I've looked into Internap-Boston and USDataCenters. As we use Internap for all of our web hosting customers, I'm going to be getting space in there (Currently we use Equinix). But I need something for a streaming media client, and Internap mbit prices aren't exactly good for that. This client will require me to have physical access to the servers in order for regular upgrades and additions in a cost effective manor. Thus throwing the idea of colocating in somewhere else, isn't a great idea. Considering hourly rates and their budget.

Any help would be very apperciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

There isn't too much in the area, believe me.. I've looked (We're based out of Albany).

There's a reason we elected to put most of our stuff in Newark NJ and NYC.

We do have some stuff in Albany though. I'd be happy to put you intouch with the few people who can help. Contract me offboard if you're interested. rd@voxel.net /518.330.7597

This is my ISP, they have an Albany datacenter.

All I can offer is that their ISP service is very good. I know nothing about their hosting services.

I would contact dektong on this board. He has extensive knowledge of the facilities in the Boston area and can probably point you in the right direction.

I would not say my knowledge of datacenters in Boston area 'extensive'. Probably not even very close. I have visited 5 data centers Boston area (UUNet, Level3, MFN, InterNAP, and USDataCenters) and that's all :)

But yea ... Jay ... go with Boston! ;)
